Help with Lightglass: common questions, how to contact us, and how to report a problem.
Lightglass is made by two people at Blue Hour Atelier. If something is not working, or you have a question, we want to hear from you.
Frequently asked questions
Q1How does painting work?
Each artwork is a stained-glass window divided into numbered panes. Pick a color from the palette; every pane that needs that color shows its number. Tap a pane to fill it. With swipe painting on, you can drag across several panes of the same color to fill them in one stroke. Pinch to zoom in on small panes. When every pane is filled, the window lights up and your finished artwork goes into your Library.
Stuck? Tap the hint bulb, or double-tap the color you have selected. The hint shows you the next unpainted pane of that color. You can change how the hint looks in Settings > Hint style.
Q2Where do the verses come from?
Every window comes with a Bible verse chosen to match its scene, and a link to read the whole chapter. The text is the World English Bible, and it ships inside the app, so it works with no internet connection.
Q3What is free, and what do Creative, Creative+ and bundles add?
- Free: seven artworks with every feature of the app, including swipe painting and Creative mode. They stay free.
- Creative: a one-time purchase that unlocks every artwork in the library except those sold only in bundles. Creative may show a small number of ads, and painting is by tap.
- Creative+: the same artworks with no ads, plus Creative mode (paint a window in your own colors) and swipe painting. If you bought Creative, you can upgrade to Creative+ for the price shown in the app.
- Bundles: extra sets of artworks, or sets of effects (lines, frames and lights), each bought on its own. Bundles are separate from Creative and Creative+.
There are no subscriptions. Every purchase is one-time and lasts for as long as the app exists. Prices are shown in the app. All purchases go through Apple and are tied to your Apple account.
Q4I reinstalled the app or got a new phone. Where are my purchases?
Open the Store in the app and tap Restore purchases. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple account you bought with. Restoring is free. If it does not work, email us with the date of purchase and we will help. Your Apple receipt is in Settings > [your name] > Media & Purchases > Purchase History on your iPhone.
Your painting progress is stored on your device. It comes back on a new phone only if you restored the phone from a backup. We do not keep a copy.
Q5How do I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose the purchase. Apple decides under its own rules.
There is nothing to cancel: Lightglass has no subscriptions.
Q6Does Lightglass work with accessibility settings?
- Color assist (Settings > Accessibility): marks every pane of the selected color with a cue that is not a color, for color blindness or trouble reading numbers.
- Hint style: choose how the hint marks the next pane.
- Vibration: choose On, Crucial only, or Off.
- Reminders: the daily reminder and its time are in Settings > Reminders. You can also turn reminders off in iOS Settings > Notifications > Lightglass.
- Reduce Motion: parts of the app follow your iOS Reduce Motion setting.
If a setting does not do what you expect, tell us. Accessibility reports go to the top of the list.
Q7How do I report a problem?
In the app: Settings > Submit an issue. Pick an issue type, write what happened, attach an image if it helps, and tap Send. The app adds technical details automatically (device model, iOS and app version, free disk space, your app settings) so you do not have to. Nothing is sent until you tap Send, and nothing in it identifies you. The full list is in the privacy policy.
By email: support@bluehouratelier.com. Please include:
- your iPhone or iPad model
- your iOS version (Settings > General > About)
- the Lightglass version (shown at the bottom of the app’s Settings)
- what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead
- a screenshot or screen recording if you can
Q8Can I share or save a finished artwork?
Yes. Open a finished artwork and tap Save to Photos to keep it, or Share to send it anywhere. You can also save it as a wallpaper card. The first time, iOS asks whether Lightglass may add to your Photos. Finished artworks are for personal use; please do not sell them. See the terms of use.
Q9Which devices does it run on?
iPhone and iPad with iOS 18 or later.
