Privacy notice for bluehouratelier.com

How bluehouratelier.com handles information about visitors.
This notice covers the websites bluehouratelier.com, bluehouratelier.co.uk and bluehour.games. It does not cover our apps or games. Each app has its own privacy policy, linked from its page on this site.
01Who we are
Blue Hour Atelier is a trading name of GLAD WE MADE IT LTD, registered in England and Wales, company no. 17322373. Registered office: Prime Apartments, 483 Green Lanes, London, N13 4FG.
We are the “controller” of any personal data this website collects. That is the legal term for the organisation that decides why and how your data is used.
Contact: hello@bluehouratelier.com. For privacy questions: hello@bluehouratelier.com.
02The short version
- We do not set cookies.
- We do not have forms, accounts or logins.
- We do not run tracking or advertising scripts.
- We use Cloudflare to host the site and Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. Neither uses cookies or identifies you.
- If you email us, we keep your email so we can reply.
03What we collect and why
| What | Where it comes from | Why | Lawful basis (UK GDPR) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visit counts, pages viewed, country, browser type, device type, referring site | Cloudflare Web Analytics | To see which pages are read | Legitimate interests (understanding how the site is used) |
| Server logs: IP address, request time, page requested, browser type | Cloudflare, which hosts the site | Security and keeping the site running | Legitimate interests (security) |
| Your email address, name if you give it, and what you write | You, when you email us | To reply to you | Legitimate interests (answering you); contract, if you are a customer |
Cloudflare Web Analytics is “cookieless”. It does not store anything on your device and does not build a profile of you. It measures visits on Cloudflare’s side. Cloudflare publishes how it works: Cloudflare Web Analytics.
04What we store in your browser
Nothing that identifies you, and no cookies.
The site remembers which visual theme you are looking at while you browse. It keeps that in your browser’s “session storage”, which your browser deletes when you close the tab. It is needed for the pages to display as you chose them, and it is never sent to us. [my assumption: this falls under the “strictly necessary” exemption in the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003, regulation 6(4), so no consent banner is needed]
05Who we share data with
| Who | What | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Hosting, analytics, server logs | Global network; US company |
| Proton AG | Our email provider | Switzerland |
We do not sell personal data. We do not share it with advertisers.
Cloudflare is a US company. UK law allows transfers to the US where the receiving company is certified under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or where standard contract terms are in place. [my assumption: Cloudflare’s certification and its standard customer data processing addendum cover this; to check before launch] Switzerland has a UK adequacy decision, so email data to Proton needs no extra safeguard.
06How long we keep it
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare Web Analytics | Cloudflare keeps aggregate figures; the free plan shows the last 30 days [to confirm with Dan: check the current Cloudflare retention on the studio account] |
| Cloudflare server logs | Set by Cloudflare’s own retention for its free plan [to confirm with Dan] |
| Emails | Until the matter is closed, then up to [two years] [my suggestion - not law] so we can refer back if you contact us again |
07Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you (access)
- correct it
- delete it
- stop or limit how we use it
- give you a copy in a portable form
- object to our use of it where we rely on legitimate interests
Email hello@bluehouratelier.com. We will reply within one month, as the law requires.
08Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, tell us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. The ICO helpline is 0303 123 1113.
09Children
This website is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. Our apps for children have their own policies.
